Day 10- LA and Hollywood

Day 10: LA and Hollywood

The Sleepy’s are back n’ blogging!! This morning we woke up in Anaheim once again. We packed up and cleaned up our campsite and then headed out. As we traveled to Hollywood, we enjoyed an applesauce and granola bar traveling breakfast. After a short drive, we soon arrived to Hollywood bowl, but unfortunately we were not able to go in. We saw the backside of the bowl but couldn't get in due to multiple upcoming concerts. We got back on Hollywood Blvd. and traveled to downtown LA. We got to drive up some very fancy streets and see homes that likely belong to rich and famous people.

When we got to Hollywood, we auditioned to see who had the loudest screams as we prepared to introduce tourists to the one and only Kayleigh-Scarlett. She was our celebrity and we told everyone that she was part of the ensemble in the new Mamma Mia movie. While standing in front of the famous Chinese Theater along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the amazing KS was swarmed by tourists and signing things left and right. Many took pictures in front of their favorite celebrity’s stars after the hype from KS's appearance died down.

Shortly after our celebrity encounter, we made our way to LA LA Land and did some major shopping. After that, we made our way back to the bus and traveled to UCLA. Once we arrived at the beautiful campus of UCLA, we had a nice picnic lunch followed by free time on the campus. While some of us walked around and toured the campus, many found themselves Facetiming loved ones in the UCLA bookstore. Everyone was filled with joy after talking to their friends as we got back on the bus to travel to our home for the night.

We arrived at El Capitan Beach State Park and got our stuff settled before walking down to watch the sunset on the beach.  A few people decided to swim in the ocean, even though it was more seaweed than water. They regretted it afterwards. While the cooks made walking tacos (chips, doritos, meat, lettuce and cheese) we unpacked our things and took showers. The tacos were delicious and everyone had more than enough food.

After chowing down, we had a little break to watch the sunset and then our sing along began. During the sing along, our campsite neighbors decided to have a Spanish sing along as well. Our sing along was emotional and we all took time to think about how blessed we are. As of now, we are winding down for bed, listening to the ocean waves, and getting ready to sleep under a full moon.

Tomorrow we get to drive up the coast and we are so excited for the incredible views!

Parents--thanks for your patience with the blog! We have limited wifi capabilities some days and uploading photos is a challenge. I am continuously uploading photos to previous days blogs as I get them from the kids, so keep checking back on other days for new photos.
